I've been looking to mount some drink holders into my foosball table. Nothing fancy.. just the kind that are recessed into a hole in the wood.

If all goes well, I might consider mounting some into the arms of my couch.

Thanks they have more selection.

Anyone ever put cup holders into standard furniture? I was thinking I could convert my couch and armchair into home theater furniture by adding some cup holders in the arms. It would definitely tie me over until I could afford some real HT seats.

I think I could just cut a hole in the top of the arms, insert the cup, and probably put some screws in the bottom of the cup through to the framework of the couch to stablize it. Depending on the depth of the cup and the thickness of the stuffing, I might need to put in a block of wood beneath the cup to get the correct height.

The scary part is cutting the initial holes in the arms of a perfectly good couch. :nailbiting_smiley: And my only concern would be how well the fabric would stay around the cup without fraying or pulling out.

Brad,
Thanks for that link. I was looking for these and poker chip inserts. I'm going to start a poker table project soon.

go to boatingstore.com /my company. we have drink holders in black and white plastic. for furniture ,as long as there is no mechanics in the arm, you can cut an X in the fabric smaller than the dia of the holder, remove padding within the area of the hole, use hole saw to cut frame to make space, then push the cup holder in the hole, the fabric ears from the x you cut will prevent the fabric from pulling out

Me too.

Step 1: Close on the new house at the end of the month
Step 2: Move in
Step 3: Build poker table and buy 10 chairs
Step 4: Host poker every night until I can afford to put in the home theater. :D

I have been looking for these for some drink tables that I am working on. I ended up going with TJ Trailers, the Casino Supply holders looked nice but they had a $20 minimum order and wanted almost $10 to ship them.

Handy links there.. I was looking for some cup holders for my HT, but I too ran into the $20 minimum problem. A bit more Googling and I found a set of 10 black plastic ones on ebay which I won for $6.50. Seems like a pretty sweet deal to me :)
