    **Stop the madness*
Guys, stop listening to your SVS CS+ subs for just a bit and tell us how you like them. Also tell us how they compare to your old CS if you had one or two. There should be more people reporting in!!!! [IMG]
Sorry mine will not be in until Tuesday and I have not had my medicine today. [IMG]

I would wait a few more days until the CS+ subs have started breaking in. There been reports in the past by some people where their SVS sub did not sound very loud at all, only to open up quite a bit after several days.

    Patience, the reports will come.

there is supposed to be a significant difference between the regular 20-39cs and the CS-ultra. It says on SVS's website that the CS-ultra package is equivilant to 2 dual 20-39cs packages........

NOW here comes the 20-39+ and on their site it says that 2 20-39cs+ are equivilant to 4 regular 20-39cs.

This sounds extrememly similiar to the ultra package...why?

Is there any performance difference between the 20-39cs+ and the cs-ultra? Where are the test results/graphs?

I also see that the two use different drivers db-12 and tv-12 for the plus and ultra respecitivly. how different are these drivers in efficiency?

how many db's louder is the ultra over the cs+?

Sorry for so many questions guys. Just trying to see where my extra $400 will go if I buy a cs ultra over a 20-39cs+ (or a 25-31cs+ with the port blocked).

Curtis, the Web site actually says to expect twice the performance of twin 39PCs. Regardless, with the Plus driver's admittedly (by the SVS folks) "surprising" performance, I'd say it's best to wait on some test results from Tom before making any kind of decision if the Ultra is something you really want to consider. Of course, if saving cash is a priority, seems that the Plus models are the bang-for-your-buck leader. It's the best of the best, IMHO. Best model (when price is considered) from the best maker (when performance/price is considered). My opinion, if you're serious about taking the plunge, get a plus, an EQ, and a test disk, and you're in business.
Heck, the 31+ may actually keep up or even outperform the Ultra above 25Hz. I'm pulling this right out of midair, but I'm just going on the apparent "overperformance" of the new driver for the Plus subs. Of course, you could just wait a week or two as the reviews and maybe some graphs (please, please, please [IMG]) come in. Well, that's my two pennies.

The CS+ will offer most of the advantages of the CS_Ultra for a fraction of the price premium(compared to our standard CS.)
These performance advantages will be perceived differently by different people...depending on,
    room,system,volume levels,source material
    among other things.
When I say the CS+ will have an approx 6dB advantage on it's CS brother down low...that is referring to it's CLEAN output capabilities measured using test tones and a *ground plane* measurement method with a 10% THD limit in place.
If you just took a 20-39cs and a 20-39CS+ and cranked both to max output levels(with no regards to distortion)...then the SPLs measured would be very close.
There's also the consideration of linearity at high volume levels. For example,
What if subwoofer *X* measured flat to 20hz at 90db and it stayed flat up to 100dB...but when you swept it at 105dB it began to rolloff at 25hz.
But subwoofer *Y* did the same...except at 105dB it stayed flat. And only at 110dBs did it start to show a rolloff around 25hz.
Basically, we've tried to give accurate *number/objective* data on how the CS,CS+,CS_U compare...and I do think interpreted correctly this data can offer a very accurate idea of what the HT enthusiast can expect from each level of SV. But if anyone has any questions about their specific situation and what SV might work best for them...you know Ron and I are doing emails 7 days week...[IMG]
