With the recent explosion of TV series on DVD I'd sure love to have these 2 television series. Other than 2 of the Star Trek series since TOS, I've not watched any TV series on a consistant week to week basis during the last 30 yrs except "Hill Street Blues" & "St. Elsewhere". Does anyone know if these 2 series are in the works. Or is there some legal holdups? Or does now one else give a damned about them? Thanks.

St Elsewhere...fantastic series!! with a fantastic cast (Denzel Washington,William Daniels,David Morse)...would be a fitting tribute to Bruce Paltrow if this was released in lavish season sets and i'd certainly be amongst the first to pick it up.

Jeff, if you go back and reread the chat you'll see that Peter wasn't referring to MTM *studios*, but to the fact that Mary Tyler Moore ("MTM" for short) Season 1 sold poorly for fox on DVD...

Reread Peter's answers with that in mind and you'll see why they are being cautious now with similar "older properties", regardless of who produced them.

So one old series does not sell enough in their view so "all" old series are now suspect? Perhaps if Fox would run a "consumer survey" they might get some differing info. I'm sure that they're probably going to rush the "Joe - Millionaire" series out on DVD with every possible trimming. Too bad.[IMG] [IMG]

I want both of these. I still consider them to be the two greatest dramatic TV series I have ever watched.
