When you use Analog Inputs on Denon 1802 does Bass Management still work? (1 Viewer)

I want to connect a CD player to one of my Analog Inputs on my receiver. But my main speakers are bookshelves and I need my Subwoofer so if the Bass Management wont work I wont bother. I dont want to go through the trouble of hooking the speakers directly to the sub. So can I just hook my CD player up to one of these connections and everything will work the same as it does with one of the digital connections? Thanks to all who reply.

If by “Analog Inputs” you mean the standard ones – VCR, Tape, CD, etc. – most receivers still have some bass management and allow for sub use. If you mean 6.1 analog inputs for DVD audio or SACD, the answer is no.

Thanks Wayne,

Ya, I meant the standard ones. I found an old cable I forgot I had so I was able to hook up the CD player and try it myself. As far as I could tell the bass management was working exactly the same as it was with my digital connections. Because this works does it mean that my receiver is somehow reprocessing the signal instead of just passing it to the amps?
