Do you usually just put it on stereo or 3 speaker mode with center?
With the crappy center speaker I have now, it sounds terrible. I was just wondering how you guys do it.
If upgrading the center will make the 3-speaker mode sound better than regular stereo, itll be the first thing I upgrade. If not, I replace something else first. Just curious as to how the majority listens to regular cd's.
Thanks

Well upgrading you centre is worthy for 5.1 playback since dialog will be improved but for stereo playback you need only 2 well placed speakers to get pin point imaging...no need for a centre speaker

I agree wholeheartedly with Andrew. I never use my center speaker with CDs. In fact, I use a stereo integrated amplifier for all stereo music sources in my home theater. The A/V receiver is used for all surround applications, VHS tapes (like I ever watch them :)), and LPs, when I have my turntable connected (my stereo amp has no phono inputs).

Even with the exact same speaker for center, main, and surrounds I listen to music in 2 channel stereo mode.

With 2 channel CD's I use the front main two speakers. With DTS audio CD's I of course use all 5 speakers.
Now I tried some of the fake DSP's and that is exactly what they sounded like, fake. Will DPL-2 change that? Time will tell I guess.

I agree with the rest. 2 channel all the way. I listen to a lot of music. Anything from Rock to Techno. Rap to Jazz. And it's 2 channel. The only way to fly.

Oops, I dropped my eardrums.
Could you pick them up for me?

With my Marantz two channel is a must. Hell the amp even has five channel but I never use it. A good subwoofer will spark up your stereo though.
