Are manufacturer's missing this point, or are they awaiting the xmas season too present this device or am I the only one asking this question..

I would of thought immediately after the HD-DVD war was over the market would see various version's of Multi-disc players..

I guess I'll have to wait for X-Mas-2008

Funny. I was wondering if I was the only one asking this question. I would love to see a 300 disc carousel similar to my Pioneer DV-F727's. I'm hoping that these types of options will become available within the next year or so. In the meantime I bought the $298.00 Magnavox player at Wal-Mart.

Well - they do make one - now...

It was reviewed in the latest Home Theater Mag...

It is a 200 disk Blu-ray Disc changer...

"Witness the amazing versatility of Sony's advanced home entertainment multimedia server. The unit features a Full HD 1080p 200-disc Blu-ray Disc™/DVD/CD changer and 500GB hard disc drive that can store up to 137 hours of video, 40,000 songs or 20,000 digital photos. You can also quickly and easily create unique multimedia digital scrapbooks to enjoy with family and friends using x-Pict Story™ HD and x-ScrapBook™ photo slide show applications. "

OF course - the link I'm providing has it at $3,499.99....a little steep...

Great post. This price is just a reflection of the expected low initial demand for this product and the relative newness of the Blu Ray technology. It will come down in due time. This confirms that the market is ready to respond once the platform matures a bit.

I haven't gone HD yet but I'd like to see a truly universal BluRay player with DVDA and SACD, preferably a multi disc one. And at a reasonable price. I'm also waiting to see what/if OPPO and Yamaha come up with. I've always liked their standard dvd players. But I really need to sell off a few things first. After all, no need to be "financially irresponsible" about this stuff ;) .

My wish (but will never come true):

To be able to have multi-disc player that would shuffle video content like we're able to shuffle music on CDs or an iPod.

But without all the copyright info, all the ads, the menus & especially all the idiotic studio disclaimers saying how commentaries might not reflect their views, and other PC BS.

It'd be fun to throw in a "shuffle play" at a party: a disc each from the Three Stooges, Seinfeld, WB Cartoons, music videos, etc.
