When to buy a RPTV (1 Viewer)

I plan on buying a new Samsung DLP RPTV in the near future. But when is the best time to buy it: during the Thanksgiving sales, the Christmas sales, or the New Years sales? I have heard that January is the best time to buy a new TV but I can't remember if retailers offer better sales in January than they do during the holidays (when they offer $250 back, free installation, etc). If anyone has any experience in this, I'd appreciate some advice.

There are usually good bargains to be found in the week or two leading up to the Superbowl -- mid-to-late January.
