When progressive scan attacks! (1 Viewer)

I have a progressive scan player hooked up to a 16X9 television with component cables. For some reason, I cannot view 4X3 movies in their OAR! It always stretches it to fit the screen. Any ideas?

Thanks!

You have to switch the aspect ratio on the TV. Somewhere there is a setting to display 4:3 instead of 16:9. Tell us the make and model of your set and we can give you the exact setting to switch.

Some TV sets won't do 4:3 mode with progressive scan DVD player input. If yours is that way, please post the make and model so others won't buy it and get stuck with that irritating problem.

Meanwhile you may have to revert to S-video or interlaced component video from the player to get around this problem.
