I ask this because the movie is running on Turner Classic Movies right now, but not in letterbox. It's uncensored ("humping", "pumping" and "schlong" weren't bleeped out), but I find it a little suspicious that this movie is being run in full-frame, but then I thought, is it actually open-matte?

Okay, 1:85:1 was the intended ratio of "WHMS".
    1:37:1 is the negative ratio.

So, is TCM screwing up, or can this showing be grudgingly accepted because of open matting?

    Sincerely,

    John Kilduff...

I hope I'm in the right in my phrasing, too.

I would guess that it is open matte, mainly because of the split-screen bed/phone scene with all four people in-frame.
