I remember, all too vividly. My sister and I were talking about Santa. It was a few weeks before Christmas and we were talking about what we were gonna ask for/hope for. Well, I was going on and on and on (I was 7) and she told me, coldly, that Santa wasn't real. Santa was really mom and dad. I cried. I enrolled for therapy the next day. I haven't been the same since. Thanks sis.
Seriously, I do remember her telling me and me crying. But, why do I recall that so well? I don't know. Just one of those things.

Seriously, I found out at age 8 or so, I actually walked in on my parents putting presants under the tree! My dad tried his best to cover his ass by saying that he and my mom were just giving Santa a hand while he was on the roof! Uh, huh, right, and i'm, well, Santa Claus!
Personally, I think it's not right to toy with a kids emotions by telling him/her that Santa is real, their just going to get their heart broken later. But that's just my HO.

My father told me when I was 8. He told me to pretend I thought he was real for my mother. I asked him "What do you do with the milk and cookies then?" My father said, "Take one look at mommy. The cookies go to her thighs and the milk goes on her moustache." I was only a kid, what did I know.

I guess it must have been christmas eve I was about 5 and I couldn't sleep. I remember hearing my mother leave the condo and going out to the car and getting a bunch of gifts from it. I sat there watching from my bedroom window and my little world crumbled. I knew, just knew that Santa wasn't real. Of course, I had to tell my 3 year old brother that santa was a fraud and mom wasn't too happy about that...

You know, I actually can't recall ever believing in Santa at all, and neither did my sister or brothers. It is possible I spoiled it for my poor younger siblings, but I guess the concept never seemed plausible for me. I still was afraid of the Santa's when they showed up at home at Christmas, but that was because I didn't know who/b] they were, and I knew it wasn't any real Santa.

My parents told me from day 1 that they put the presents under the tree.
IN FACT, I had never even heard of Santa until a couple of months into the kindergarten school year.
I remember being yelled at by many teachers and they were saying "You just ruined Christmas for the whole class!!!!, Don't tell them about Santa"
"Hey, at least I'm not the one who looks like a hippo with pimples!!!"
    Grrr.. now I'm mad.

I figured it out for myself when I was a tyke of about, uh, maybe 7 or 8? Don't remember. But while I believed in "Santa" when I was young, I was always skeptical about the flying reindeer bit. I think if it weren't for Rudolph and gang, I would have been more of a believer. My mother confirmed my suspicions when I asked her.
I guess I've always been an analytical geek even as a tyke. Somehow I KNEW that there was no way reindeer could fly!
Of course, the presents labeled "From: Santa" in my mother's handwriting was probably a give-away as well!

I can't remember ever believing in Santa. I did, however, pretend to believe because that way I got presents from my parents and "Santa".
