the emotional importance of the memories attached to a song are often an crucial factor in what a person considers to be his/her favorite song
Exactly... which is why we could never agree on one song and why I don't have an all time favorite and never could. However in the spirit of the thread I nominate:

My favorite song tends to change every so often. Right now, it's a toss-up between Nil Lara's How Was I to Know and Poi Dog Pondering's God's Gallipoli.

Same here Roblutter..... Do you feel like we do by Peter Frampton.

Loved it growing up and still love it.....especially on the Frampton live in Detroit DVD. Very nice.

La Mer (aka Beyond the Sea) Never heard a performance I didn't like but my favorite is by George Benson.

Here's a couple of my my very favorite songs. Sing,Sing,Sing, originally done by the great Louis Prima (one of the greatest frontman ever IMHO), and Opus #1 by the great Tommy Dorsey . These songs will still be around long after most rock songs fade.

Sort of random, but whenever I get asked (typical first date question...) I say Don't Follow by Alice in Chains. Something about that song...one of very few songs that I can remember where I was the first time I heard it.
