The city--at least, I hope it was the city --attached a device to the streetlight today, and I'm wondering what it is. Best I can do is try to describe it: A square plate has been affixed to the lightpole a little ways below the light, and a round pole comes off of this at a 45° angle before bending straight up to 90°. At the top of this pole is a square metal box that has a wire of some kind coming out the back that--as near as I can tell--attaches to the very top of the lightpole. There is a rather long, gray, probably flexible antenna coming out the top of this box. That's about all I can make of it at night. I did a search just now and read something about contraptions being attached to lightpoles to enable some kind of internet access, but my area gets any kind of internet just fine. It doesn't look like a camera, but I'm not sure. Any ideas?
