My apologies if this turns out that I'm recalling a mini-series rather than a movie. All I remember is it was a fantasy tale where the bad rulers' mountain castle would rise and fly off to another location. Does that ring a bell for anyone?

Thanks Scott, from your suggestions it may be Krull. Zardoz I'm familiar with and while it's sort of interesting it does not quite rate as potential guilty pleasure.

I am sure it is Krull. It is a guilty pleasure of many HTF'ers. It jsut came to DVD in a pretty great edition this year.
