Easy to pull the trigger on this, it was cheeeep. Being mostly a nostalgic purchase, I'm okay with the VEI's more compact version of the series. The episodes sourced from the CBS/Paramount DVD season sets look pretty good. The remaining seasons from the Worldvision prints are...less so. But it's fine. Just slightly bummed the period Paramount or Worldvision logos aren't included. I'm not 100% sure what was at the end of the series credits back then.

We 50s/60s/70s kids grew up watching Looney Tunes on TV rather than in the theaters, though I do remember seeing some that way. It's the same for The Three Stooges, Laurel & Hardy, and The Little Rascals shorts. For that reason alone I consider all of them to be TV and would post them in this thread without hesitation.

Not bought but…friend called last week, his good friend died and left a few thousand DVDs and asked if I wanted them. I said yes, went today and picked them up. Filled the bed of my truck and almost all of my interior. A ton of single disc movies, many new/sealed. A ton of box sets and again many new/sealed. Many are OOP. He took care of his things. I got several books as well. Some are 50 years old and almost look brand new.

You really cashed in with that haul, even if you didn't buy 'em.

The worthless ones will either be trade in material or I’ll just use the cases. I always need cases. The friend that called me wants a new pool cue. I’m a cuemaker, he’s getting a new cue built by me for half the regular price.

I'm being tempted by the digital stuff. Yesterday The Walking Dead and Fear of the Walking Dead complete are $25 each currently on fandango. I bought them from Fanflix using the code FATHER10 to get a 10% discount (on 3 of anything in the sale) and activated them on fandango at home. That's $22.50 each. Yeah, how much is that per show season? For Walking Dead that is $2 per season. Also got Camelot for $3.60. Not the huge hit Game of Thrones was but glad to give it a try. I got a movie too. Midnight Meat train unrated for $3.60. $52.20 total. :)
Warning: just found out TWD only has 2.0 sound. bummer! FWD is probably the same. I wouldn't have bothered had I known. I have an ATMOS system so this is a great loss.

Today at the Salvation Army store I found the complete Northern Exposure DVD from Shout for $10. I've never seen the show but this will be a good way to give it a try. I can always upgrade to something with more or all of the music. I couldn't find a list of what was removed or even a percentage of music removed. There were a few discussions about individual scenes that either had the song or didn't. The dvds look mostly new. Hope they work!

I started a digital collection simply because when I buy used DVDs and Blu-ray’s you don’t know if the code is valid. I built up quite a collection quickly. Then I have bought some tv shows on sale when no Blu-ray was available in the US. Magnum PI is one, of course it’s been released on Blu-ray now so I bought that too.
I’m trying to limit myself but I caved immediately when they had the 50 films for $50 a few weeks ago.

The Adventures of Brisco County Jr. - Complete. A repurchase as I traded in my original set years ago and I really miss this series.
Police Story - Season 1
The Loner - Complete
Doctor Who: Sylvester McCoy: Complete Season 2 (Season 25 actually)
The Bold Ones - The New Doctors - Complete
Have the Loner and Police Story, watched an episode of the latter recently, great show. How much did The New Doctors set you back, if you don't mind me asking? At some point the cost went from lower than expected to prohibitively high for me, haven't checked in awhile.

I check ebay periodically and was looking at a "near mint" quality used set that was priced at $45.00. Hadn't thought much of the price although the pictures of the set looked nice for a 9 disc set. I was surprised when I checked my ebay page and had an offer on the set for $30.00. The pictures plus the lowered price won over my resistance. I almost couldn't hit purchase fast enough :D!!!
