I'm thinking about buying a used Anthem MCA amp, but what is the difference between the series I and series II? I've noticed that the price difference is quite large on the used market. The power ratings seem to be the same between I and II, so if anyone can point out the differences it'd be great, thanks.

What my dealer said was that the original MCA's didn't test out at the specified 200W, all channels driven. Power supply was beefed up in the Series II.
That being said, I am very pleased with my MCA-3 Series I performance on my center and surrounds.

Capacitance. Up from 20000 mf/channel to 30000. Also, taller chasis so that there is better cooling. It is now expected to put out power closer to the spec. Of course, they never rated it 200wpc all channels driven. I f you see the literature it was 170wpc all channels driven. I say that it is a natural progression with a correspondingly higher price tag.
