What's the cause for a permanent Yellow Tint spot on RPTV screen (1 Viewer)

My friend has a yellow spot on his RPTV screen and asked me why? I didn't know but I told him I would try to find out. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

I have a yellow splotch on my RPTV. I tracked it down to the blue CRT. There was a smudge under the lens assembly.

Wow! I have about 5 of these yellow blotches, only visible on a white background. I previously blamed them on some old computer game burn-in, which happened before I knew any better...
