As an early Christmas gift, I've finally added a (cheap $299 Sam's Club online) surround sound system (RCA RT2500)to my DVD player.

Can anyone recommend DVD's that are surround sound intensive? I currently have Twister, Saving Private Ryan, Terminator2, Blade, The Matrix, Independence Day, Star Wars Episode 1, and The Fugitive. These all have sound great, so I'm looking for others.

    Any Ideas?

    Merry Christmas

Those DVDs you listed all have great soundtracks. Others are Haunting-DTS, Gladiator, X-Men, Toy Story 2 and U-571,

Nothing beats 'Saving Private Ryan' for Digital Sound chaos, turn up the volume and dive for cover.

FYI, Titanic has some of the best most awesome ambient surround info I have heard. Check out the part where Rose searches the submerged sections of the Titanic in search of Jack. You hear the hull of the ship creaking and groaning under the stress of the water. Just liek being there.

If by surround sound you mean a track that really works the surround channels, Requiem For A Dream has some sequences that make some of the best use of the surround channels that I have ever heard!

Also, I just got Mannheim Steamrollers Fresh Aire 8 DVD. Great use of surround channels!

Better add "The Fast and the Furious" now that it's out. It is a surround sound delight!

I would agree with Bram Stroker's Dracula. And Phantom Menace of course. I haven't seen any Moulin Rouge posts so much for DVD OF THE YEAR.[IMG]

Strange Days is probably my favorite 5.1 mix.

The rest are also great, and they're worth watching, unlike so many 5.1 demo movies:

    Dark City

    Fight Club

    The Iron Giant

    Antz

    Toy Story 2

    Apocalypse Now

    Das Boot

    Starship Troopers

    Tommorow Never Dies
