Sounds like possible malpractice to me (unless of course the doctor felt it was warranted.
Not malpractice. Standard Ozempic dosage for the first month is 0.25mg. After that, it increases to 0.50mg. If your body can tolerate it and the doctor believes it's warranted, some patients go up to 0.75mg, a full 1mg or higher. If the patient doesn't tolerate a higher dosage, as in my wife's case, the dosage is dropped to the last tier that the body did tolerate.

Thursday evening, I watched the finale of The Grand Tour. It was a bittersweet end to a car show (Top Gear) that I began watching in 2002. The presenters (Jeremy Clarkson, James May, and Richard Hammond) have been a part of my life for the past 22 years and seeing them part ways on screen for the last time was really sad. I can’t say that I didn’t squirt a few tears during the last three minutes or so of the final episode before the credits rolled. I won’t spoil it here for those who haven’t watched yet, but for fans of the show (both shows) the ending will make perfect sense.

My dad passed away on August 30th of a heart attack. Official cause of death was Malignant Hypertension. During my time home for the Funeral, I discovered that dad had stopped taking his blood pressure meds and instead was taking garlic pills on the "recommendation" of some quack he was following on Youtube. My dad was big into conspiracy theories so he would often take stuff he heard on yt as gospel but I never thought he would take the advice of some rando and endanger his life like this. He was always reminding me to take my own meds. Keep an eye on your elderly parents, folks. They need to be monitored just like toddlers.

I’m sorry to hear that.

My wife had an uncle who was like that. He'd take just about any supplement he'd heard about and ignore the advice from his doctors. My dad would refuse medications because "It cost's too much!" when *his* copay would be ~$10 (he was very frugal his whole life and in the last few years of his life forgot he had plenty of money - he even convinced mom they were "broke" - they were far from it). I was constantly printing generic coupons for him to use at local pharmacies - coupons for meds he could have gotten cheaper with insurance if he'd just used it. The last couple of years of my mom's life we filled and directly monitored her meds to make sure she was taking them properly and were constantly telling her "You have plenty of money - don't worry about the cost!"

If you have someone like that who's on several prescriptions check with your pharmacy to see if they can pre-package daily packets of those meds. We changed all hers to one that offered that service (was an extra $10/month) and it greatly reduced the stress/hassle of getting her to take them properly. Once that was done they'd automatically fill any needing refills and contact Dr offices if no refills were left. Absolutely worth that small monthly fee. We'd pick up a blister pack of perforated containers that had a removable strip for each week with each day an individual, removable, pack - once a month. That way we could "hide" the main package so she wouldn't find it and start taking things on her own. Day/night had separate strips/packs which were color coded to make those easier.

LOL at the developers trying to make Downtown Newark the next playground for trust funders and "Daddy's Little Girl" types. It doesn't look like it's going too well since most of the area is still a cesspool of riff raff and boarded up storefronts. Gentrification is the scourge which is the root cause of all the homelessness in this country. Until somebody decides to build housing that regular people can actually afford, the problem will just keep worsening.
