Lots of additions and subtractions from the book, but I still find this quite entertaining. I reviewed the Twilight Time-released Blu-ray disc here.

Please let us know about the picture and sound quality when you've watched this Blu-ray disc. Sitting Bull is a film my father took me to see when I was a small boy. I've never seen it since and I'd like to.

The Giant Behemoth (WA BD) I saw this when it came out. A childhood favorite.
The House that Jack Built (Curzon BD, Region B) Lars von Trier's latest in its uncensored version. A descent into Hell with Virgil as guide.
An Inspector Calls (Amazon Prime HD) An interesting BBC adaptation of JB Priestley's play. Very good cast. Produced in 2015.

Today at lunch, Noir Alley. I'd also like to get another mystery series entry off the DVR - Alias Boston Blackie.

Of course I will, but I was just in the non-series thread the other day with Footsteps in the Dark. I read the threads every day there is something new in them, but haven't had any new viewings lately myself on which to write.

    Busy yesterday:
The Wall (Amazon Prime UHD stream) Directed by Doug Liman
Tower of Terror (Network BD Region B) 1941 British wartime pic with Michael Rennie and Movita
Il Grido (Eureka MoC DVD Region 2) Antonioni's drama starring Steve Cochran, pointing towards the emptiness and other themes further explored in L'avventura.
Mine Own Executioner (Network BD Region B) 1947 British psychological drama starring Burgess Meredith, Dulcie Gray and Kieron Moore. Interesting premise with no easy solution.
I Met My Love Again (Classic Flix DVD) Starring Henry Fonda and Joan Bennett. Romantic melodrama from 1938. Bennett was so beautiful, though still blonde and not fatale.

Tonight, I stumbled on Great Performances: Bob Fosse - Steam Heat. How I ever missed this biographical special shown on PBS I don't know, but I enjoyed it. Of course, it only gave cursory glances at some of his most famous work, but I really appreciated hearing excerpts from speeches at his Celebration of Life service where people like Neil Simon who had worked with him so closely could share intimate stories.

The Colossus of Rhodes (WA BD) Sergio Leone's peplum.
The Third Man Revisiting this classic in Studio Canal's 4K restoration BD. Krasker's cinematography rivals Alton's.
Whirlpool (Arrow BD) From the set Blood Hunger: The Films of Jose Larraz. Sexploitation cum slasher film.
Big Wednesday (WA BD) Bittersweet, raucous surfer buddy film.

I indulged in another viewing of The Spiral Staircase this afternoon. I love this film so much, and since I wasn't reviewing it this time but simply watching for pleasure, I really got into the moody atmosphere and deep shadows. Terrific 40s thriller.

I hope to get to this one this evening, but the one Torchy movie I watched a few months ago (Glenda's penultimate film in the series) wasn't a particularly happy experience. I'm hoping I'll like the beginning of the series a little better.

I love that Blu-ray disc of The Third Man. I'm going to watch it again in the next few days. I also have the disc of Whirlpool. I must get around to buying Big Wednesday soon. I saw the film when it first came out and absolutely loved it even though it's not my usual type of movie.

Today I watched - for the umpteenth time - I Wake Up Screaming! (Betty Grable and Carole Landis! Yes sir!) I wonder how many people today are aware of the song I Wake Up Smiling which inspired the title.

Big Wednesday: I'm not into surfing movies either, but...there's something about this film and cast.
I Wake Up Screaming!: I'd Wake Up Smiling with Landis next to me...
