I had settled on a Sony Grand Wega 60", but my finances won't be ready until the new model year. Any word on the improvements or changes Sony will be making to this line? (And, in advance, yes I've looked at DLP, and I see the rainbows. I wish I didn't, but I do. And I would like non-burn in technology, so I won't go the CRT route.)

    Thanks!

The burn-in issue you mention, should not eliminate RP CRT,
unless you know that you'll be watching alot of static images. Games etc....
The burn-in thing is over hyped!!
If there are any improvements, I'd research what they are, and how they "might' improve your viewing.
Other than that, only you can know what your eyes tell you is a great PQ.

Since you're waiting, as I am, I suggest waiting for 3-chip LCOS units. Intel has made some promises, and hopefully they'll be out soon. They should be great with much better resolution than the LCD RPs.

There are some LCOs sets out now, but they are either single chip or lack the high resolution.
