This is not really "off topic", but it is out of place in the other forums.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that most of the people here started with decent, budget equipment and then moved up the ladder. I'm also going to say while you saved up for all of the amazing equipment, you acquired more and more knowledge about HT.

Do you think if you went back in time with the knowledge of calibration, room acoustics, room treatments and tweaks you have today that the "budget" equipment would sound a LOT better? If yes, how much better?

    Any thoughts?

    Aldamon,
Yes I know that it would sound better but that is because I didnt start with a budget system (Total around 8-10K) but when I did my research and learned how to properly calibrate my speakers it was a world of difference. Everything came alive and it was like having completely new speakers. Now I just need Gregg to come over and show me how to calibrate my TV [IMG]

I think its the overall experience, and if I had it to do all over agian, I would have spent a lot more money on video and much less on audio. As it stands I have 120" screen sound but only a 32" screen.

Experience for me. I don't have 10K into my system, but the experience of great visceral sound is still there.
