I chose Robot Monkey, because monkeys make me laugh. I figured a Robot Monkey must be a very silly thing indeed.
LOL! :)
I hate nothing more than selecting usernames. The first thousand I try will, no doubt, be taken. My gamertag is "iCamp". Not very original...my name plus the stupid "i" Apple puts in front of everything. Some guy in a MechAssault game hypothesized the name must mean I camp as in I'm a camper.

Ah, what geeks we are.:D
as to the origins of the light, well now...! I just can't give away *all* my secrets, though for one it occured to me that there's nothing as inherintly twisted than getting fragged by something akin to purity/goodness. Maybe we'll discuss it sometime over coffee and destruction!
That and maybe I'll actually be able to find time to hop on live over thanksgiving break. Woe is the poor student!

Well, I don't have a XBL tag yet, but the one that I've used for years stems from my time on Sega's "Chat" rooms (which were really just continuously updating message baords for the most part). These rooms allowed you to choose a sega character as your Avatar, and as the VF2 freak I was at the time, I chose Shundi. I figured my name should reflect my avatar, so I made the name DrunkOldMan. It turned out to be a good conversation starter, and I really don't like it when people change their names all the time, so I've kept it since then, although I've shortened it to DOM or DrunkOM usually.

bickle, as in Travis Bickle from Taxi Driver. Back in the olden days of Doom, when someone was on a killing spree, we would say that he was "going Bickle". :)

PhoncipleBone is my call sign. It is the name of one of the major characters from the Bone comic books. There were three cousins, driven out of Boneville: Fone Bone(the nice, innocent one, who has a passion for Moby Dick), Smiley Bone (the idiot. He smokes cigars and eats a lot) and Phoney Bone, or his full name, Phonciple P. Bone(he being the greedy asshole. Always thinking of schemes to rip people off and gain power).
I used Fone Bone for a while, but I like the look and sound of Phonciple Bone. Also, the character has one of my favorite quotes from the comic: "God, I pity me!"
To find out more go to http://www.boneville.com/whatisbone/
It truly is a wonderful read if you want great humor and mystery. The trades can be found most book stores.

I came up with the first part of my tag
when I first had to choose a name for
EQ. My cat's name was Bong and of course you
can't use that. So I tried spelling it backward.
Gnob didnt sound right, my buddy said it sounded
too similar to gonad. Which cracked me up, so I
spelled gonad backwards. Then when the time came to
choose a last name in EQ (20th level? its been a long time)
I wanted to keep the backwards theme. After trying
numerous humorous words I came across swollen. Nellows
actually sounds like a real last name= perfect.
There ya go,
Aaron Armstrong
p.s. some people think I'm using my real name and ask
me what ancestry it comes from etc...

Painkiller was taken already so, I settled for Painkilller. It's the Judas Priest album from a few years back.
Whomever "Painkiller" is, I hope he's not an asshole since my gamertag could easily be mistaken for his!

Mine comes from Cartoon Network's Aqua Teen Hungerforce. I felt Master Shake was the funniest character in the bunch and his personality reminds me of one of my friends. So I took that name to annoy him.

Then I vote for your tag to get Most Noble Reason for a Tag.

As an aside, it occurs to me that there could be pretty good humor value in a gamertag like Thomas Jefferson or Abraham Lincoln. "WHAT'S THAT?! Oh my god, it's Abraham Lincoln's entrance music! And he's just delivered the Rail Splitter! King, I have never seen such a display of brutality." This is my JR impression.

Now, what's the story behind PPH2 and Serious Crayon?

These are some great replies!

That was my first guess when I saw that one. Cool disc - beginning of a new era for Priest. The drummer (something Travis, formerly of Racer X) was insane on that album, a little bit more life than the venerable Dave Holland who he replaced. ;)
I think my favorite so far is Swollen Gonad backwards. That is absolutely hysterical.

My name is a typo... I've worked in advertising and marketing for a number of years and usually use the handle Pitchman. When I set up my Xbox Live account it was late at night, and from across the room, I mistook the san-serif Xbox "l" for a "t", and Pilchman was born!

My name is TrackZ. It's the license plate on our 2002 Z06 Corvette. The Vette is blue, so other children of the '80's might remember the blue Transformers Corvette was named Tracks. Unfortunately, that's already registered in MI, conventiently enough by another Corvette driver. So, we decided to replace the S with a Z since it's a Z06.

I remember seeing it on an in-game billboard in one of the Wipeout games for the PS1 (either the original or 2097, because Designers Republic did both those games).

Come to think of it, "Buck Thrustwell" undoubtedly refers to a rocket motor or something.

I got the nick name one night at work, I work for an ISP so late hours are a pretty common place. Anyway, it was about 3am and me and a couple of other techs had been waiting around for like 3 hours for Verizon, so one of the techs was like "Hey, lets get some porn names." So we went to a website that will convert your name into a porn name and my name happened to come out as Buck Thrustwell, the only other one I can remember is Lance Gear, and that's because we still refer to each other by them.
