On a couple of DVD's recently, I have noticed some strange things. During scenes with lots of movement, there are "streaks" left by the moving objects. Would these be "motion artifacts"? If so, what can be done?
    Thanks!

I noticed the same thing when I got my first dvd player(S7000) about four years ago.
With fast motion there would be brief trails across the screen.
I stopped noticing it after a few days.
I never could figure out if it was the tv,dvd player break-in, viewer break-in or just another acid flashback!
Did you happen to experiment back in the sixties?
Maybe we can tie this all together [IMG]

Could you give us some specific examples? That would help.

If this a white or light color in the foreground[moving object] and black or dark background, then it's a DC restoration problem on the TV.

This has happened on 2 movies, Toy Story 2 and 13 Days. I have viewed Toy Story 2 before without these problems. It has only happened recently and only on these 2 movies (I have watched Fifth Element, Cast Away, and few others without problems). There was no difference in backgrounds and the problems were occurring throughout both movies. It made the characters almost appear as if they were in slow motion.
    Thanks!

The only thing you can do is clean the DVD. If this doesn't help you're SOL my friend!

I had these problems for a while, and i solved it with backlighting. For me, it wasn't the TV or my DVD player in question, it was my own eyes. Went to lowes and got a 24" fixture and a 6500k bulb and viola, fixed things right up for me. This is with a Toshiba SD2109 and a Sony 36XBR450.
