hk avr 510 or pioneer vsx-d812/912

avr510 is about $150

vsx812 is about $150

vsx912 is about $250

one of them will be replaceing a yammy rv703

The 912 has alot of options the other ones don't but if it is like the 811 I own it isn't the greatest for music.

well i listen to music all day then wife and daughter watch tv all night and we all watch about 7 movies a month if that helps.

I'm going to be using the receiver with ascend 170's and 340 center

For the features the 912. It will do great with DVD's and if you are not a music nut(sound wise) you will get buy with the 912. Plus the 912 has pre-amps which means down the road you can add a 2 or 5 channel amp to it for better sound....that is what I did with the 811.
