    Friends,
Looking to purchase a high end television for $2,500 or less. Would like to have 36 inch screen or larger since I watch widescreen DVDs exclusively. Any suggestions?
I was very impressed with the Sony 36XBR450. Does anyone have any valuable experience with this unit?
    Thanks for your suggestions!
    Lee

I would have to say I like the new Toshiba's better than the mits. I would say a Toshiba 57H81 or if you can find a 57HX81 at that price. Both are really nice.

I would have to second the Toshiba's. I purchased a 56H80 and at the time found it was much better than the Mits. Due to some unpleasant circumstances (house fire) I am once again in the market. I would go with a Toshiba over a Mits any day of the week. After going to the WIz, 6th Ave and PC Richards, all the sales people I have worked with agree that the Toshiba's are better TVs. My 56H80 was outstanding but with the new lenses on the 57HX81's you can't go wrong. For that price you should be able to get a 50HX81 or a 57H81, both in my opinion better than the Mits.

I got a Toshiba 61H71 for $2500 tax included at Sears due to their price match policy.

I just ordered the 57HX81 yesterday(Sept. 20, 2001) for $2444.94 + $349 shipping(white glove delivery) from Spectravox. Replacing my TN50X81(calibrated by Louis Carliner). Can hardly wait. [IMG]

I've had my ($2,075 w/Free SH, no CA tax) Toshiba 50H81 since August 1st and enjoyed the latest technology employed by Toshiba's latest HDTV Monitor offerings.
I highly recommend any 2001-2002 model Toshiba HDTV's!!! [IMG]

Phil, after seeing the pics on your site, my mind has definitely been made up to buy the 50H81. I can get the 47" Panasonic for pretty cheap ($1,500) but it looks like it takes alot of tweaking. Plus, after seeing the Panny, I don't think my monstrous Polk center speaker will fit on top. Is it tough to do all of those convergance adjustments? I'm new when it comes to that.
