I recommend 14-ga. copper wire, rated for in-wall installation - about $25 for a 100 ft. reel at Lowes or Home Depot. (Actually 14-ga. plain insulated copper lamp cord will do just as well, I just find the extra stiffness and insulation on the in-wall stuff to be a plus.)
Seventy cents per inch vs. two cents per inch. Even if there were some audible difference between the wires (and I don't believe there is) there is no way one sounds 35 times better than the other, so as to be worth 35 times more. Save some money on the wire, and buy yourself some more movies.
Personally, I've used the 12ga cable available at Parts-Express.com and have been quite satisfied. It's certainly a lot less expensive than your dealer's recommendation.
Thank you for your feedback, I'll sick with my monster cable and cut the ends off. As recommended I'll look a monoprice.com for any additional cables I need.
