What's a good amplifier for a highly reactive speaker? (1 Viewer)

I drive my ML's with an Adcom.

I'm wondering if that's the right amp to use...

Aragon or Krell would be my first choices, with the Aragons (used 8008 series) being an exceptional value.

But if you're satisfied with the Adcoms performance, you should (by all means) stick with it.

Yamaha MX-1or MX-1000U goes well with the ML speakers as they are rated to drive 1ohm load and are very warm sounding which compliments the ML's sound charecteristics.

I used to run ML Quest with the Yamaha amps till I switched to Yamaha speakers.

I've already listened to my speakers on an Aragon amp. I can't remember the model number, but it looked at least twice the size of my Adcom.

To my untrained ears, it sounded the same as my amp, though. The vendor told me to better spend the extra money on a nice transport - he considered the difference not to be worth it.

I'll try to audition more amps as I can.

Without picking brands, I'd be looking towards amps that have a guaranteed power specification into 2 ohms. I'll bet your vendor just happens to have transports that take advantage of the money you just saved
