How is your quality on Mr. Hex? I recorded all of the movies when TCM ran them and the print they used on that movie was abysmal. Out of focus for part of the film.
I would love to get decent quality on the Eastside Kids movies as I prefer them to the Bowery Boys. Would mind finding the Universal series either, although those were not very good.
My recording of Mr. Hex is decent quality, no blurry or out of focus scenes like on the print from TCM.

I also have the 22 East Side Kids movies, also have Universal's Dead End Kids/Little Tough Guys movies with Billy Halop. The last entry in the Universal series, Keep Em Slugging, Halop isn't in that one and instead Bobby Jordan has the lead role in place of Halop. Picture quality varies from film to film but everything is watchable.
Completely off-topic but FYI ... 16 Bowery Boys films (1946-1949) here, and another 5 (1950-1952), here. All free downloads and fairly nice quality via the Internet Archive.

"How about the one hour long Dick Powell Show from 1961-1963. Has that ever gotten a release anywhere? Who owns it?"

A few weeks ago I noticed Talking Pictures TV (UK) promoting the entire series streaming on their website. I checked the website and never could find it, just the usual one episode a week that they've been posting. They have a bunch of four-star tv series for online viewing which are pretty good transfers but they are 25fps so there's a bit of PAL speedup to deal with.

The Dick Powell Show/Theatre, of course when Powell died, any intros he did were replaced by a succession of guest hosts. And being a Four Star series, it belongs with Disney.

I came across this thread again today. So, I was wondering, are there any companies still releasing DVD ‘s of TV shows that might be interested in those old ZIV programs? MPI maybe?
There are still several ZIV shows I’d like to see in that comprehensive listing above. Harbor Master, Men Of Annapolis, Rough Riders, Whirleybirds, Malibu Run and others!

Dial 999 is available as a pricey import from the UK. Has anyone seen this ? Is it worth ordering?

I have that Network set of Dial 999 (the emergency line in the U.K. of 1958), starring Robert Beatty for it's 39 half hour episodes. It's R2 locked, so you need region-free playability. Very good PQ.

As to the show itself, it features the prototypical cop show of the familiar ZIV template, but with a British feel (a ZIV / ABC co-production with Harry Alan Towers) and with a Canadian Mountie (Beatty) on exchange with the London Metropolitan Police. As with all things ZIV, extensive location filming, London and environs. Many familiar British faces. If you like other ZIV shows, this series won't disappoint. But I got my copy when released at a good price, and I do see that dealers are pricing it high these days, maybe too high.

I see that there are but a few episodes on YT. Here's Network's promo for their DVD release...

Clips from an episode with fascinating Fleet Street locations...

A complete episode (with a young Robert Shaw)...

For those who weren't fortunate enough to purchase the Dial 99 DVD release, it's available as a free download at the link below. From my understanding, this series is in the public domain.

Whitley Birds? You mean Whirlybirds, produced by Desilu for CBS Films, so it belongs with CBS!

Yes, corrected above. That’s what happens when you post at 1:54 AM and don’t double check your work! And my phone loves to give it’s own interpretation of spelling!

I came across this thread again today. With ZIV releases few and far between these past few years, it seems doubtful we’ll ever see the release of any other shows.
