I am looking for suggestions on what kind of tv to buy. I'm not totally up to snuff on the whole LCD, DLP, Plasma thing, so this is why I need some help.
My viewing would be 70% tv, and 30% DVD's. The room is roughly 14' X 14'. The tv is on the second floor if my house, so I am not sure about a big screen.(room is too small???) There might be a XBox somewhere in the future, if that matters. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

i was in same boat at you, i decided i'm going to go with a projector! You can pick a very nice one up for half that price!

If set on actual TV set, i was looking at either the 50'' sony WEGA or Hitachi 50'' LCD. Both looked great, and you can pick up for about 4000

How much daytime viewing would you be doing? If it is primarily for night time viewing, I second the recommendation for a projector, but that also depends on how good your cable signal is. Standard (analog) television signals can look pretty bad on a projector.

If its daytime viewing, I also recommend the WEGA or the Hitachi LCD.

Thanks for your replies guys, Grant , that is a very nice tv. Do you know this from experience? It looks right up my alley.

Mark, this is mainly for nigh time viewing. I'm not sure about the projection, is my room not too small (14X14)it is kind of cluttered with furniture.

Warren, both those tv's look awesome. I will have to go my electronics store and see if they have those models. Thanks again guys.

I would probably get a 32" TV (for TV viewing) and a projector (for movie watching only) , which can be both acquired for around that price if you shop around.

Just a consideration.
