There was a TV movie, in the early 80's, it aired right around the time that the TV movie The Day After aired. It was shot in a news-type format. It was about a police had found a nuclear device on a ship in a US harbor. the bomb squad is rushed to work on the bomb while a news camera crew film the entire thing. in the end, the bomb explodes, destroying a major US town and all this occurred like if it was happening live on TV. anyone have any information on this TV movie.

I believe that was called Special Edition or Special Report. The US harbor is Charleston, SC and was done in the same way that the radio broadcast of War of the Worlds was done. I felt the film was much more effective than The Day After.
