I'm going to be opening up the back of my RPTV to clean the CRT lenses. I live in a moderate-dust environment and it's been at least a year and a half since they were cleaned (during ISF calibration).

What do you all (esp the ISF guys who frequent this board) recommend for wiping dust off of RPTV lenses?

    Thanks!

    Hi Carlo

First use canned air to blow off any dust, then I use prepackaged eyeglass lense cleaner (small paper towel that is prewet) to clean off the glass. NOW BEFORE it dries use a soft / eyeglass cleaning cloth to buff off the cleaner and remove any streaks. This works like a charm.

    regards
    Gregg

Thanks Gregg! Phew, thank goodness I live near an Office Depot! (that's about the only place I can think of for compressed air)

There might be an optometrist in Westwood where I can get the eyeglass cleaner supplies...

Before I tear apart my TV, what is the best way to access the lenses. Do I start in the front or the back?

    Thanks
