My next four UHD 4K purchases will be:
X Men: Days Of Future Past
    Exodus: Gods And Kings
    Salt
    The Penuts Movie

If I do not get Salt or Penuts Movie I might be looking at Kingsman: The Secret Service and Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials.

Also hoping that Fox will take some of there classics that have 4K DCP's and release them on UHD 4K.
    Mrs Doubtfire
    The Seven Year Itch
    The Innocents

I am still so "on the fence" with the whole UHD/4K concept, and that's a format first for me. With pretty good Blu-ray versions of literally all of my favorite films, the upgrade from 1080p to 4K leaves me flat.

That being said, I'll probably upgrade through attrition when my current equipment has run its course. Hopefully there'll be a large UHD selection by then.
Even then, I don't see upgrading more than 20 or so catalog titles, plus all the new content that interests me.

Hey Dave, thanks for the pics! I was actually wondering what the bottom sides of the discs themselves look like - I'm assuming they're a similar blue to regular Blu-rays but I obviously I have no idea. Once you get a chance to open one up, let us know.

And congratulations again on your purchases, I know you've been waiting a long time for this! :)

Your welcome to me they look just like the blu-ray cases.

Can not wait to get a 4K UHD projector to finally get my HT where I would like it to be. Till then I will enjoy my HD and UHD movies on my Samsung UHD TV. Thanks it seems like it has been awhile but it is all coming together and it is only a matter of days till UPS pulls up and hands me my new 4K UHD player. :D

Quite a few titles released before 1965, hardly any at all from that year to now.

None quite frankly. BD is good enough for me. Can't imagine replacing 600+ BD's for another format. Gotta retire in 10 years or so, and gotta have cash for steak, tequila and cigars. Priorities, priorities.

Why replace them all? Replace those few titles that you are really excited about and focus on new releases. I do think a lot of people are in your same position though. I'm loving the new format, 4K HDR smokes Bluray in the 7 titles I have watched. Anyway I'm enjoying it a ton.

That is what I will be doing. Will not replace my entire blu-ray collection, just the titles I really like and I will be selective on what ones get upgraded to 4K UHD. I have 4 titles so far and am planing on ether purchasing 4 more next month or upgrading my one connect for my UHD TV.

Other than a few of the usual suspects (LOA, Ben-Hur, Casablanca, etc). I doubt many of the films I love will ever see UHD releases. I rarely buy new releases (Bond, a few others) and less than 5% of my 630 BD's are from 2010 on as you can see below. The major focus of my collection is pre-1970 films. I also don't plan on updating my equipment until OLED is perfected and comes down in price. Once I upgrade my TV and player, I'll be content with up-rezed BD's.

It will be interesting to see if "older" movies make the transition. In fact even some of the 90's movies I have seen "remastered" to 4K and streamed have looked like crap. I'm hoping that is just because of Netflix and that these movies are not coming from the studio otherwise it will be really sad. Everything I have streamed from M-Go has been pretty good but newer. Although I bought "Ghost in the Shell" and was pretty disappointed. Older movies are going to have a lot more grain, etc and you might as well live with Bluray then. It is going to be an interesting next couple years...

I have seen 4K DCP's of the following and they looked great so I do not see how older movies that have had current 4K restorations can not benefit from 4K UHD Blu-rays. I am sure there are a number of factors that can make a movie not fit for a 4K presentation but there are many older films that should work very well on the format.

    The Seven Year Itch (1955)
A Tree Grows In Brooklyn (1945)
    The Innocents (1961)
    Mrs Doubtfire (1993)
    Laura (1944)
    Heaven Can Wait (1948)
    My Darling Clemintine (1946)
    Zardoz (1974)

Going to hold out for the 4K UHD release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens!

This is what I want to see! Will not surprise me if it is 2017 or 2018 before Disney releases this.

    star-wars-the-force-awakens 4K UHD.

Off topic question...did you do this in a cataloging software or in something like Excel?

It's my collection stats from blu-ray.com (I keep up with my collection there since I can easily add titles when I order them).

Mine is roughly similar except that I have more recent movies. But that's because of 3D than anything else. Going forward if new movies on UHD BD look a lot better because of HDR then it will definitely affect my purchase decisions. But hopefully there will be older catalog released on UHD BD as well because I will gobble that up especially if the improvement is significant.

    Collection stats 3-9-16.

Is there some kind of list with all UHD releases that can be sorted by parameters like studio and most important production year?

Two titles I really want right now are Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Hunger Games: Mockingjay Pt2 but I am going to put them both off till they come out on UHD 4K Blu-ray.

Best Buys for the time being seems to have most of the UHD titles in stock.

    Just purchased the following movies
The Last Witch Hunter 4K UHD
    Elysium 1080p Blu-ray
    San Andreas 4K UHD
    The Peanuts Movie 4K UHD

    IMG_7218a.

I will purchase the following movies again in UHD!
    Elysium
    Hunger Games Pt.1
    The King And I
    My Fair Lady

Movies I will wait for until they are released on 4K UHD
    Hunger Games: Mockingjay Pt 2
    Spectre 007
Star Wars 7: The Force Awakens
    Bridge Of Spies
    Fury

Upcoming titles that are ether set for release in 2016 and or 2017 many of these titles are still involved in some stage of production.
    The Divergent Series: Allegiant
    The Huntsman: Winter War
    Captain America: Civil War
    X Men: Apocalypse
    Independence Day: Resurgence
    The Purge: Election Year
    Star Trek: Beyond
    Ice Age: Collison Course
    Jason Bourne
Rogue One: A Star Wars Movie
    Resident Evil: The Final Chapter
    Maze Runner: The Death Cure
    The Wolverine 2
    Fast 8
Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales
    Cars 3
    Transformers 5
War For The Planet Of The Apes
    Star Wars 8
