More than anything, I would like a super-special release of Goofellas.

- multiple commentaries: (1) one by Ray Liotta, De Niro, Pesci, Bracco; (2) one by the real Henry Hill (Nicholas Pileggi?); (3) one by Scorsese; and (4) another one by someone else on the crew, such as the cinematographer or editor, etc.

- deleted scenes

- a making of documentary

- and some other goodies ;)

I have been patiently waiting for Deep Impact, not just a 16x9 enhanced version, but a 2 disk. I currently have National Geographic's Asteroids: Deadly Impact bundled in a 2 disk keepcase with Deep Impact and it makes an effective duo, combining the movie with a factual documentary, actually it is scary to look at the movie then look at the doc. I am also looking forward to...

- Titanic
- The Fifth Element SBD
- Crimson Tide

BTW, The Thing is already a SE or am I wrong?

Solaris Special edition from FOX with the longer cut from Soderbergh that he did.

Deep Impact with deleted scenes.
The Saint with deleted scenes (more details on the two deleted scenes I know of at http://enterline2.tripod.com/enterline/id118.html )
Jade (widescreen theaterical and unrated director's cut since the first DVD release was Full Frame theater cut).

Braveheart (I heard Mel Gibson cut the movie down from six hours, and I should have added that one to the list of my article linked above)

Ghosts of Mars (since John Carpenter does mention some outtakes in the commentary that aren't on the DVD).

Brotherhood of the Wolf (to include all of the extras that were on the 3 disc release that was released in France)

the defenitive Aliens Special Edition DVD (to include the Burke in a Cocoon deleted scene as one of the extras)

Be Seeing You,
David Blackwell

Batman
Batman Returns

John Co, what about Armageddon Criterion?

I'd love to see a Shawshank Redemption SE - I saw an old featurette where they had a deleted scene of Morgan Freeman laughing for like over a minute. The director was talking about how amazing it was that he could keep it up for that long and stay convincing.

Another would be A League of Their Own. I'm sure there's got to be some great archival footage of those women playing baseball. I also remember hearing about how Tom Hanks had to gain all that weight to play the part, and how Rosie O'Donnell and Madonna developed a friendship during the course of filming the movie...Plenty of good featurette stuff!

WarGames
Varsity Blues (some great stars in this one)
Mad Max : Road Warrior
Mad Max : Beyond Thunderdome
(If they aren't going to make a 4th mad max movie, they really need some kind of SE boxset)
Philadelphia
Passenger 57 (might not be good enough for an SE but it's a cool older action flick)
Office Space
Maximum Overdrive
League of their own
The Goonies
Gone in 60 Seconds
Dumb and Dumber
Con Air
Casino

These are only ones that I own that I'd like to see more features/discs. Not sure if any have announced SE's or not.

I'm not sure how many of these titles would have material for sepecial editions, but I would at least like to see the re-issued with anamorphic transfers:

Ghost and the Darkness
Full Monty
Good Morning Vietnam
Dead Poets Society
Slingblade
Scream

What's happened to the Top Gun buzz? Has it evaporated, or did I miss a release announcement?

In addition, I'd like to several already listed:

Goodfellas
Heat
True Lies, let it free already!
Casino
Apocalypse Nowbundled with Hearts of Darkness: A Filmmaker's Apocalypse

and to keep with the "Filmmaker" theme;
The Big Picture

Paramount is sitting on a goldmine of films that need to be SE's, including many Best Picture winners. Here are just those I can think of off the top of my head that I'd like to see an SE edition of from them:

-Titanic (1997)
-Ordinary People
-Terms of Endearment
-The Truman Show
-Paper Moon

And a few more from other studios that deserve more than just single-disc releases:

-Network
-Kramer vs. Kramer
-The Shawshank Redemption (supposedly 2004)
-The Shining
-Annie Hall
-The Sting (WIDESCREEN!!!)
