What the heck are interconnect (1 Viewer)

Preformed a search and still do not have a full grasp on what these buggers do. Connectivity/quality of A/V connections?

Seems to be a DIY deal no?

Interconnect is just a name for cables that aren't speaker cables.

Signal cables that interconnect items = interconnects. These would include RCA cables for audio, video, digital as well as svideo, component cables, etc.
