Another fascinating documentary. I’d never even HEARD of Brandy Melville until tonight. I didn’t realize how long they’d been around. While this focuses mainly on BM it also attacks the whole fast (and traditional) fashion industry, mass consumption and our disposable consumerism mentality. If you thought Abercrombie & Fitch was a toxic workplace just wait! When I Googled to see if there were any stores nearby I thought it was surprising how lawsuits and a PR nightmare barely caused a blip in their business. The CEO was very much a believer in the “there’s no such thing as bad publicity“ mindset and he was right.View attachment 223519

This is definitely NOT for everyone. It’s incredibly graphic (verbally speaking) in its discussion of Jared’s quest for sexual partners (generally underage) and how he fooled Subway and his fans/followers is unbelievable. Another one of those “I remember the headlines“ stories where it unearths all the details.

Viewed episode one of Presumed Innocent on Apple TV yesterday. I never read the novel, but mostly remember the Harrison Ford film, so I am familiar with the basic story outline. The attractions of the series (for me) are seeing how the story is fleshed out with a longer run time vs. a film treatment and the cast. Also curious to see if, and how, the series deviates from the film; as I have no knowledge of how closely the film aligned with the source novel.

Already the extra story time is evident in the increased screen time for Rusty's (Jake Gyllenhaal) wife Barbara (played by the always excellent Ruth Negga). Enjoyed seeing the story unfold in episode one and thought the performances were strong.

- Walter.

Started an Umbrella Academy rewatch, in anticipation of Season 4.

I absolutely love the umbrella Academy
It has my heart

And the dancing scene from season one to Tiffany “I think we’re alone now. “

Moments like that are perfection

Yes, excellent selection

Has anybody finished season one of dark matter yet as I have?

Fantastic. In my opinion.
I don’t know if we’re going to see a season two due to the ratings
But I hope we do

either way… You can watch season one and feel satisfied by the end if they leave it there

what a trip

Has anybody watched:
DARK on Netflix?
I have two episodes left, Season 3 episode 7...
My God...
Incredible storytelling, visuals, audio assault on the senses.

Anybody else have a take?

I can't believe I've waited this long to dive in
It’s good subtitles from Germany

The story is just…
Multiverse time travel… Light verse dark good versus evil

Characters are core.
We see them young we see them middle-aged we see them old and we go to the 1800s we go to the 1980s. We go to the 2020s.
The concept is so brilliant

Give it a shot. Don’t watch the trailer if you really want a surprise.

One of my favourite shows of all time. The best thing on Netflix.

Thank you @Josh Dial !!
I searched but couldn’t find.

I can’t think straight, it’s all encompassing

I argue with people that don’t like “TV” series quite a bit,
Because when a show is this good
This could not be done in a film
Or in a trilogy without chopping out massive amounts of information.

Let me head to the thread thanks again, Josh. I appreciate you.
