I just hooked up my N64 system to my home theater last night, and it sounds great! I'm just wondering if there are any N64 games that are designed for surround sound systems...
What are your favorite sounding games for Nintendo 64?
Any suggestions?
Thanks!
John

Rogue Squadron is REALLY good (already mentioned). Some of the faster paced games are better, and usually games like RS or StarFox have better sound. Rare also used MP3 technology to have more sounds and voices in games, so try some of their games. I reccommend Conker :)

Perfect Dark sounds really good- it's in Dolby Surround, too.
Banjoe Kazooie is probably the game to show off your sub, if you've got one. Very boomy.

Jet Force Gemini is in Dolby Surround and probably has one of the best soundtracks of any N64 game. I also think it's an excellent game, although a lot of people disagreed with me.

Looking back over the responses, I think you can see a pattern.

Rare's games tend to sound pretty good on the N64. They also have vowed to release all of their games in Dolby Surround.
Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time also has a surround sound option...if you haven't played that one you should be shot .

JFG is great. The sound is great, and the game is really good.
Rare is also a second party developer for Nintendo, which is a big thing for some people. Their games usually have the best graphics (since the SNES) for the console and sound just as good. Nintendo's games also are good, but so much as Rare. If Mario 64 had surround, that would have been cool.

Another good sounding N64 game is Mickey's Speedway(?). Believe it or not, that game sounds amazing in Dolby Surround and I believe it is also a RARE game.

Don't forget to pick up Banjo-Tooie after you've finished with Banjo-Kazooie.
Oh, then there's the sequel to Rogue Squadron also. (I haven't played it, so I can't tell you if it's as good as Rogue Squadron)

Another Rare game: Conker's Bad Fur Day. Get it if only for the movie parodies.
And it manages to do something that even most Playstation games don't do; every word is spoken. It's amazing what they did with that cartridge.
