What's that one track you use to show off your system when someone comes over? The song must make an impact from the get go to impress, because they won't be listening for long.

Now that I've finally finished my LP to CD-R transfer of Louisiana's LeRoux's first album, it's Take A Ride On A Riverboat. With the opening harmonies, the bass, the horns...hell, the whole song. Actually, the whole album is great demo stuff.

My surround sound demo used to be Bohemian Rhapsody on the DVD-A, but I think I may change it to Peter Gabriel's Growing Up. That mix is just amazing.

For stereo, I go with Joe Satriani's Devil's Slide on the SACD.

Patricia Barber, Cafe Blue, used to be the mainstay.

It's been usurped by Massive Attack & Tracey Thorn, Protection.

I always have used Flim and the BB's "Tricycle", "David Johansen and the Harry Smiths" on Chesky, and XTC's Apple/Venus(my favorite).

I favor James Taylor's Terra Nova from the SACD of "JT".

Just a beautiful multi-channel recording especially the end vocals.
