Hello,

What Samsung sets are there equivalent to the 32 inch Wega that goes for around $900. Right now I am still leaning on the Wega but after playing with a Samsung, at the store it has me thinking.

There is also a Sharp TV now in this price range but looks very basic and Sharp will not give out info on resolution etc..

I am looking for 32 inch set, component and s-video and the ability to do the 16x9 squeeze. HD isn't that important.

Thanks

There really is no Samsung set that is the same as a Wega unless you want a 32 inch Flat Tube HDTV that's what the Samsung 32 inch model is & it usually sells for more than a $1000. Samsung does have analog 32 & 36 inch sets but they don't have Flat Tubes. The 32 inch set can be had for around $450 & the 36 inch for under $600. Both models have Component Video Inputs & can do the "Squeeze Trick" for DVD's.

Eric, which 32 inch set are you talking about? The Flat TubeHDTV set or the regular 32 inch set? Also Sears & Best Buy has both of them. You might want to do a search on them on this board or try www.samsungusa.com for the models numbers.
Off hand I can't remember them. In this weeks Father's Day flyer Sears has the 32 inch Flat Tube HDTV Samsung set advertised for $1,299.99 but they don't list the model number. Also check Tweeter if you have one near you because they also have both of the Samsung models.

BB model # is Tsl3293HF, Sears is TSL3294HF (which is same as Jand Rs or others TSl3295hf.
BB model doesnt have PIP or advanced audio the the others have.
If you have a Sam's Club near you, they had/have the TSL3295hf for $999 and is the best deal you can get on a 32" Flat TV. Can't compare a WEGA 32KVfs13 non HDTV to a Samsung TSL model. TSL blows it away fo roughly same $$ any day of week.
I have had my TSL3294 since March and love it, especially with progressive DVD and my New XBOX. Just Awesome!

Bill and Mike,

Thanks for responding.
I was actually wondering about both models of the Samsung. I wanted to know the model # for the non flat 32 inch that does the squeeze for about $450 and the one that is priced at around $1000 as well.

I suppose I would like to see both. Originally I was set on the Wega but if the Samsung flat screen maybe better for another $100 more than I think I should give that a look as well. I don't have any sams club around here so I may have to check out Sears and Best Buys. I wonder if they would match a $999 price.

SEars has the TSL3294 for $1299 (this past weekend I think)
They won't match $999, but you could always try and haggle to get better price. I was able to get mine for $910 delivered, but I was smart and got real lucky. I bet you can get it from sears for around $1100 and yeah, even at that price it is well worth it. Their normal price on the TV is $1499

I went to Best Buy to check out and possibly pick up the Samsung 32 inch flat screen and they had one open box there. They told me it was now discontinued. Any one hear this?

I went to Sears but they didn't have it in black. They also told me to bring in prices from online or other stores and they would match it.

The currrent crop of TSL's have been replaced by newer models that add 3:2 pulldown, 2 component in's etc. I dont think they started to ship yet.
Black is only the 3293 which is the lower end model. The sears model (which I have but did not buy from sears) is silver/grey and is the same as the 3295 (JandR, etc). Adds PIP, pro logic sound and built in subs. I actualy prefer the black case and didnt need the extras (HT audio system) and Sat dish, but I got such an amazing deal on the TSL3294 I had to take it :)

Mikey,

Thanks I had been doing some research on the Samsungs and have found out about some of the different models and whatnot.

One sears by me has the TXM line already but they have the TXM3297. I would rather get the 3296 since it is $100 cheaper but has no PIP an dnot as good a audio system(2 things I can live without I think).

I did call Samsung and they said the black samsung(3293) is still in print.

I could just as well be satisfied with this set as well if I can find a store near me that has it.

If you don't mind me asking, how were you able to get such a killer deal?

Also I noticed upon reading some info on the newer TXM line, how does 3:2 pulldown work and is it worth the extra $100 on the model up?
