I was very pleased to find out the other day at my Opthalmology appointment that my eye pressures were actually down from last October!

Also, Monday was our one year moving day anniversary. My, how time flies!

    CHEERS! :)

Perhaps the two are linked. As I recall, you were slightly stressed out in your old digs. ;)

Triple YIKES! Man, that year really did FLY, Tony!

I'm guessing things have vastly improved for you after the move...? I certainly hope so. Keeping in mind we will never find perfection in our living circumstances, sometimes a move can really help sort out certain things.

My brother recently got me one of those local editions of The New York Times (the actual New York "Late Edition"), and I discovered that the late edition from New York still has TV listings in its Arts section (page C7). The last time I saw any kind of TV listings in the New York Times was when my sister-in-law got me one from over a decade ago; it was a Sunday one, and it had a TV guide section in it. I also know that the New York edition has the same cover price as its national cousin (not to leave out that "New York" is in the dateline on the front).

Today, after falling in love with the original cast recordings of the Broadway musical “Hamilton” when it first came out, we were able to secure 3 tickets for its Toronto run in May!

The negative part of the process, was that they cost us over $750.00! The Mirvish organization in Toronto put us through a very convoluted process on the computer that combats scalpers and took about two hours and would only let you pick your section and not specific seats.

The two of us bitched and bitched about the expense, until we realized how lucky we were to
    a) get tickets at all and
    b) be lucky enough to be able to afford the expense.

Yesterday, after experiencing what I posted about in the "what annoys you" thread, I took my car to another place. I knew what was wrong with it based on a Google search. I asked the guy if he could replace a brake light switch. He said sure. No fuss, no muss, no trying to charge me for something else I didn't want. That pleases me.

Jeez, that’s $250 per tix. I think I’ll stop wishing for Hamilton to come to Little Rock.

Read this at the Trains Magazine forum just now and thought it was a cute, so I suppose it qualifies as someone that pleases me. :)

A young ensign reports on board his first ship and sees the executive officer. "Sir," he asks, "What's the captain like?

The exec answers "Well, have you seen Charles Laughton as Captain Bligh?"

    "Yes sir."

"How about Humphrey Bogart as Captain Queeg?"

    Yes sir."

"And Gregory Peck as Captain Ahab?" Now the kid's starting to sweat...

"My God sir, What'll I do?"

"Aw, you and the skipper'll get along fine! He loves old movies too!" :)

However, as a retired person, Friday ain’t what it used to be.

That both Joey King and Patricia Arquette got Critics Choice, Golden Globe and SAG nominations for The Act on Hulu; I hope each one gets at least one of those awards (of course, the noms are a great consolation prize should they not win).

When I see some of today's science fiction, I think "the future isn't what it used to be".
