I'm thinking of building a SHIVA Sub using the SHIVA MARKII and there AVA250 a 250 watt rms into 4 ohm plate amp.
It will be ported and tuned to about 20hz to 22hz.
The cabinet will be a fair size.
What should i expect from the sound ( example will i be expecting a sub that would sell for about $800 on the market, will i be expecting it to sound like a KLIPSCH KSW-15 ect....
    Please help

Any reason not to get the 15 inch Tempest driver?
I mean if your going to go to all the effort, why not move a lot more air for only a slighly larger box and cost.
In any regard, if you build it well, it can outperform the Klipsch. Also, commercial subs are often shoved in too small of an enclosure and under ported... It is too hard to make comparisons with commercial subs. You have the ability to make it a LOT better.

    Thanks Chris.
I got to keep the sub small due to my small theater room.
My theater is a RCA home theater in a box.
I'm only 15 years old and i'm getting started in home theater.
My current sub is a RCA duel 5 1/2" sub it is in a bandpass and it sounds pretty good to me.
I cant wait intell i hear my DIY sub in the future.
I'm getting all my info ( box size, port size ect.. from Dan Wiggins of Adire Audio )

the adire guys will take good care of you, keep up with them.
the shiva sub can/will sound far better than a comercial offering in the same price class.

The shiva will do very well even in a 100 liter box. That said I'd highly recomend you get the Tempest over the shiva. If you went with the tempest and put it in a smaller box sure it isn't running at max potential but when you move into a larger room its very easy to build a larger box and voila instant killer sub.
