Hey everyone,
I need some help. My dad has a car wash and we bought these speakers
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16836355001
I need something good since the speakers are outdoor.
What kind of receiver will be good for these speakers? We had one but it was to warm up every time.
This is what we had before:

Thanks

Those are 8 ohm speakers, so you don't need anything special to run them. I'm assuming the receiver will be in a dry location.
You probabaly will want to get wire "hardened" for outdoor use. If you are going through walls, you also need wire rated for in-wall use. And depending on the run length, you might need to go with a smaller guage (larger wire). The run length may have been a drain on the old receiver and the reason it was heating up.

Thank you for the reply.
Do I need receiver or amplifier? what is the difference?
What kind of receiver I can get that will not get heated up?
Can something like that work? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16882115373

You don't need/want 5.1.

That "could be" all you need. What is the "source" of the audio?
FM?
CD?
Ipod?
Computer?

Thanks for the reply.
Very simple, don't need 5.1
Music is FM radio, and I have a microphone for input when we need to call someone.
Can you show me something cheaper?
What does this mean:
8Ohms Stereo: 150W x 2
4Ohms Stereo: 225W x 2
8Ohms Bridged: 450W x 1
This amp is 2 channel, does it mean I can connect only two speakers?
As I said, I bought this one before: http://www.pyleaudio.com/sku/PT720A/1000-Watts-AMFM-Tuner-Hybrid-Amplifier-W-70V-Output-wBuilt-In-Auto-Mute-Function-And-Music-On-Hold-Output
But hurricane sandy flooded the car wash and I'm looking for something better.

I'll let the other fellas deal with your technical needs, Maor.

Welcome to the forum!

But I can tell you that a receiver does the same basic function as an amplifier...but also includes the radio tuner/receiver.

Sounds like you want a receiver for your needs. The trick will be to find one with the microphone cut-off function for announcements.

Any "stereo receiver" will have its own hook-ups for two pairs of speakers.
The microphone is the tricky part.
Looking at PA amplifiers(Public address) you find lots of misleading specs. How "loud" does this need to be?

There is this, you'd need to add a tuner(find one cheap at a pawn shop or Goodwill) and a 2 pair speaker switch box...

Since this is rated 4ohm, you could just run the speakers in parallel.

As loud as I can get it without breaking the system or the speakers (it's a car wash, pretty loud cleaning machines)
PA amps don't come with radio build-in, correct?

PA "can" have built in tuners...the one I'm linking is "overkill"...
http://www.amazon.com/Pyle-PT720A-1000-Watt-Amplifier-Function/dp/B00262C7GK/ref=sr_1_3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1355175821&sr=1-3&keywords=pa+fm+tuner
That might be to your liking anyway. The speakers you bought handle 250RMS, and this has that without struggling.

I had this one before: http://www.amazon.com/Pyle-P1001AT-1000W-Hybrid-Amplifier/dp/B0010K6TUO/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1355176545&sr=1-1&keywords=P1001AT
I'm looking for maybe something better.
Is Pyle as good company?
What about these two:
1. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/597472-REG/Pyle_Pro_PD3000A_PD3000A_3000W_AM_FM.html
2. http://www.pyleaudio.com/sku/P3001AT/3,000-Watt-Hybrid-Pre-Amplifier-with-AMFM-Tuner---Audio-Inputs-and-Outputs
Are these two going to heat up as the previous one?
Thanks

Amplifiers get hot. Especially since you are combating noise. I worked in a car wash as a kid. Unless you spend big bucks for a Sunfire...your amp is going to get hot.

I see. First I want to thank you for your time.
So what is the different between PD3000A and P3001AT? They are almost the same price, which one should I get?
Are these two good for what I need?
Is Pyle as good company?

So for me there is not difference between P1001AT (what I had before) and P3001AT? Will P3001AT give me more power?

3 times the power, which in reality...means it "could" run cooler.
Instead of maxing out the 1001, you'll use roughly 40-50% of the 3001.

Thanks for the help Sam.
I guess it makes more sense to go with the PD3000A for $30 more than the P3001AT and get the cd drive.
