I just purchased an Epson 5040ub (2500 lumens and 1,000,000 contrast ratio)
Screen to projector is 15 feet and screen to seating is 14 feet.
Screen is going to be 100 inches.
The room is a dedicated black room.

Question:
What screen to buy?
I am assuming a gain of 1.0 or less right?
Grey not white in screen color right?

I have more or less the same question. I haven't followed the front-projection screen market for a few years and don't know what's good today. I'm also looking for 100-120" and unity gain or lower. Can anyone help with an overview of the current marketplace or point me to a sub-forum discussing the merits of different screen products?

Typically you don't' want to go below 1.0 gain unless you are in a challenging room (light environment). In your case I'd go for a 1.0-1.2 gain white screen. You can get those at Monoprice and they are quite high quality.

With that many lumens I would go for a 120" screen minimum.
A 1.0 to 1.2 gain white screen, as suggested above, should be just fine.

High gain grey screens should be reserved for high ambient light conditions and/or low lumen (1000 lumens and below) projectors.
