what kind of cable is this, and can i get a longer one? (1 Viewer)

im using this as a power cable for my computer speakers subwoofer box, it came with it, so im sure its a power chord, but how would i go about making this thing longer? do they make an extension for it, or would i have to somehow splice it? and if so, is that difficult?

but it almost looks like an old PS/2 keyboard/mouse type cable.

i guess anyhting's possible. i was told by someone else on here that it looks like an extension cable of some sort. worst comes to worst i'll go to radio shack but i'd like to figure it out on here.
