...besides the Darth Vader tells Luke he's his father scene.
    Here's mine:
At the beginning of "Empire" when Luke escapes the cave and is floundering in the snow, Obi Wan appears to him in a vision and tells him what he has to do. Just as Luke passes out, Solo comes riding through the fading apparition of Obi Wan, obviously led there by Obi Wan and the force. A powerful scene the first time I saw the movie, and it still gets me.

I actually believe the best scene in those movies is in Return of the Jedi. The scene near the end where Darth Vader picks up the emperor, kills him and saves his son's life. They both lay there. Too hurt to move. Too moved to speak.

    A couple favorites:
The "suns" scene in ANH with the forlorn music and great cinematography.
The end of ANH where Luke is about to blow up the Death Star, the music, the pressure.....then the utter calm when Obi-Wan interjects. Sublime.
I guess you can see why ANH is my #1 favorite film of all time.

Without doubt its in Empire Strikes Back. When Yoda says: "Size matters not, judge me by my size do you?" Then proceeds to...Well you know what he does. And then Luke says: "I don't believe it". Of course this whole bit of dialog proves moot with the miticlorian explanation. But thats a rant for another time [IMG]

I've got a couple, first the whole space battle at the end of 'Jedi', for a movie that used the old optical compositing technique for all of it's visual effects shots, this remains one of the most glorious examples of what can be done!
Second is at the end of 'Jedi' when Vader tells Luke to take his mask off. It's a very sad scene and I think that 'Episode 1' made it worse because in that film you see Anakin as a fresh faced precosious little boy, and you just couldn't get past what sheer hell lay ahead for this kid.

Leia lapdancing in Jabba's Palace was a real turn on, or was that a dream I had recently?
No it was Luke saying "Fuck me thats big!", when they see the Death Star for the first time, and Obi-Wan smacking him in the mouth for bad language, that scene only available in the unexpurgated version.
Any scene with those cute little Ewoks does it for me, I hope Episode III is called 'Attack of the Ewoks', mmmmm I can dream can't I? [IMG]
ps. But seriously I love the scene with Luke looking up at the two suns of Tatooine and John Williams fantastic music swelling up in Episode IV, great scene, also the Hoth battle to the asteroid chase in Episode V, and the whole climax of Episode VI.

Any scene with Boba Fett - he's just too cool...
    ------------------
He thought on homeland, the big timber, the air thin and chill all the year long. Tulip poplars so big through the trunk they put you in mind of locomotives set on end. He thought of getting home and building him a cabin on Cold Mountain so high that not a soul but the nighthawks passing across the clouds in autumn could hear his sad cry. Of living a life so quiet he would not need ears. And if Ada would go with him, there might be the hope, so far off in the distance he did not even really see it, that in time his despair might be honed off to a point so fine and thin that it would be nearly the same as vanishing.

The duel of the fates in The Phantom Menace for it's pure visceral greatness. It makes the other light saber duels look like slow motion.

Dan, you beat me to it.
My favourite scene would have to be... when Han and Chewie are running down the hall chasing the Stormtroopers and then you see them running back with the troopers chasing them.

Too many for me to pick just one fave, but...
The Fanfare and "A Long Time Ago in a Galaxy Far, Far Away"
The opening crawl of any of 'em.
The new Tie Fighter vs X-Wing footage in IV
Lando and Leia just failing to catch Boba Fett buggering off in Slave 1.
Threepio's whines whilst he's carted around by Chewie crack me up.
    "Obi Wan never told you..."
    Any spacecraft shots in VI
    The Podrace
Jar Jar: "Did he crash it?" (seriously)
    Jinn vs Maul
Kenobi strutting up to Maul swinging his lightsaber like he's Cock o'the North - change that to basically any time that Jedis are kicking tail...
Panaka shooting out that window in the palace
    Cheers,
Mark, who really likes Episode 1.

My favorite scene is when Darth Vader reveals himself to Luke. It's pretty damn good.
    Others:
The Hoth Battle, particularily when Vader is walking towards the Falcon and it just takes off, so close.
In Star Wars, "I just lost my starboard deflector shield, get set up for your attack run."
In Return of the Jedi, the whole space battle. "How could the shield be on, I get no reading. ... Well, how could they be jamming us if they .. don't.. know that we're coming." "Break off the attack."

I changed my mind after seriously thinking. It would have to be Jar Jar's fart. I can't wait to hear that in 5.1.

    Tom Ryan,
Man do you have good taste! Star Wars is also my all time favorite as well. The two scenes you mentioned give me goose bumps when I see them. I think the music really helps these scenes tremendously. I also like just about everything that Han says in that film.
    "She's rich."
    (grunt from Chewie)
"If you were to rescue her the reward would be..."
    "What?"
"Well, more wealth than you can imagine."
    "I don't know, I can imagine quite a bit!"

I just love that scene. Too many to list!

Oh man, how could I have forgotten the Lightsaber battle between Obi wan, Qoi Gon, and Darth Maul! [IMG]
Lucas turned Lightsaber dueling into an artform all it's own in that film!

How about in A New Hope when Leia leaves the cockpit of the Falcon, after being rescued. Han then asks Luke "I don't know, whaddya think? You think a princess and a guy like me..." where Luke quickly responds "No". Han's grin afterwards says it all. [IMG]

    A couple of my favorites:
"I am your father" - awesome
The scene in Jedi when Luke goes wild on Vader towards the end and there is that really awesome music.
