what is that one DVD that has been released... but you just can find, either because it is hard to find or out of print? Re-Animator was highest on my list, but luckily it is now back in print and I it is all mine (bwahahaha)
...my dvd HOLY GRAIL is 'This is Spinal Tap: Criterion Collection'... It is the one DVD that keeps me looking in the 'S' and 'T' sections everytime I am in a new DVD store.
so... what is your HOLY GRAIL? [IMG]

I jumped on the John Holmes "Exhausted" documentary when I finally found it in a store, since I'd heard of it coming out a while ago but had never found it til then. I have a feeling the 2-disc set with all the "Pink Lady and Jeff" shows won't be out too long, so I'm planning on getting that before it's gone.

Salo: Criterion Collection.........I absolutely adore this film and want this disc bad to replace my terrible bootleg VHS version, but I don't want to pay $300 for it either.

    GoodFellas: Criterion Collection
It would be nice to have a commentary track by Martin Scorsese. Maybe some interviews with the actors and the writer, Nicholas Pileggi. Maybe a documentary on Henry Hill.
And most of all a retraction in the Best Picture and Best Director categories for the 1990 Academy Awards and giving those awards to GoodFellas and Martin Scorsese respectively.
[rant]How in the blue hell did "Dances With Wolves" ever beat out a great film like "GoodFellas?"[/rant] [IMG]

I adore this set. It also helps that the movie is rock solid and brilliant.

Criterion; 400 Blows. It's the only o.o.p. Criterion I'm missing [IMG]. Looking back, I should have got that one before I got Salo... IMO it's worth well more than Salo is. But I still ain't payin' over $200 for it. [IMG]

Nothing really comes to mind. I have the Criterion LD of The 400 Blows and Salo has never been a title that held my interest. Maybe some of the OOP Marx Bros. titles from Image. ( I think I missed one or two of them. Then again, they'll likely get re-released so I just have to be patient. )
    Using Tom_G's wish mode...
Ran:SE with an improved transfer ( anamorphic, windowboxed if necessary please ), any interviews with Kurosawa on the subject of this film, and a Roger Ebert commentary track. That would be a nice DVD.

Criterion didn't put out a Goodfellas DVD. WB is preparing an SE for 2002, though.

    My DVD Holy Grails are...

OUT OF PRINT: A Hard Day's Night (Despite open matte and only stereo, I want to replace my crummy SLP tape!)

ALREADY OUT: Stanley Kubrick 2.0 Box Set

COMING SOON: Buster Keaton box set from Kino

NOT YET MADE: Abel Gance's Napoleon: Criterion Collection, Box set of MGM Silents (Ben-Hur, The Crowd, The Cameraman, The Wind, Greed, etc....)

Around the time "Hannibal" was released, I like many others was desparate to get my hands on "Silence of the Lambs" DVD. Then, when it was finally on the shelf staring back at me, I didn't even want it anymore.

"Wanting can be greater than having". Who said that?
