what is the best dvd player for asian market (1 Viewer)

my family lives in indonesia, jakarta.

what is the best dvd player that :

- plays all region

- progressive scan

- could play mp3

- play vcd

any advice would be appreciated

Do you live in SE Asia too? I'm guessing you don't.
But you may be aware that they have lots of brands over there that we don't have here; plus, because of the prevalence of VCD and imports, I believe quite a few of the players are multi-region and more flexible than those available in the US. (My wife is from Malaysia.)
It might be best just to send them money to buy a player with the features they would want.

they dont know what they want. my family is full of "joe six pack". they dont know what a 12g wire is, or what progressive scan is.

i will stay there for a month ( december ), and i would hate it if there is no small home theater around. i mean, my dad bought a new house, and he told me to rock the house with a home theater. he was spoiled with mine when he paid us a visit last december.

i have tried google to find spec on each one of them.
they are old players, from 1997 - 1998.
some of them dont have component output, no dts...which turned me off.
well i guess i would just buy a playstation2 and mod chip it to play all region dvd ( is this even remotely possible??? )
