I know what it is....but then again I don't. What does it sound like? What should I be listening for to determine whether I have it? Just curious... Thanx

I may not absolutly possitively be right.

My definition of "port noise" is a bubbly kind of sound. Its usually found in intense scenes that have a potent amount of bass.

During very loud bass effects, you can hear port noise as a "chuffing" sound. It is basically turbulent flow of air in the port which is audible. Spread your fingers apart and blow your breath with pursed lips through them with about 8 inches between your hand and lips. That roughly approximates the sound of port noise.

BTW is that sig from BtVS?

Easy. That's the phenomenon that leads to "Port Noise Complaint" (with apologies to Philip Roth).
    Sorry gang, couldn't resist.

If you guys are talking about my sig, then that would be from Fight Club.

It was when Ed Norton was walking down some stairs in his office.
