This is a bit of a newbie question but I don't think I'm really a newbie. I've had my HT system for a few months now and everything is awsome. But I was just curious about the "PCM" on my system.
I'm running a digital coax cable from my Sony DVD player to my Sony STR 945 reciever which I let do the decoding. When it decodes, it reads "PCM 48kHz". I'm just curious about what everything means and what formats the kHz would be higher at?
    Thanks all!

    Christopher,
PCM stands for Pulse Coded Modulation, the form of digitizing sound used by CD's. The PCM light on your receiver indicates that it is receiving a digital signal from the selected source.
