"Monitor Out" goes to the display (TV).

A monitor is a TV without a tuner, or, your TV on it's Video input.

Is the same jack labeled DVD Out?

Also on the Onkyo ht-s650 can use the 6 channel inputs for dvd-audio player while using the dvd video in and optical in for my dvd player. Last question how do you associate the video ins with the optical/coaxial ins.

Ok, say i have a device on video 1, video 2, and dvd. Can I see all three, not at the same time of course, through the monitor out.

    Yes - -I think -

All video sources go into the Onk, and the Monitor Out to the Video In on your Tee Wee set.

When you switch sources with the Onk, the corresponding video will display.

When in a source, you may select the digital audio in to go with it, at least with my HK you can. Hitting the digital button on the remote cycles through them all, including the associated analog in. Leave it where you want it and you're golden.

    Good luck

"Monitor out" is a confusing term.
Sometimes the "monitor out" is supposed to go to the TV.
Sometimes you use "monitor out" to go to the VCR to record from and "video out" to go to the TV.
Sometimes the composite output jack is called "monitor out" and/or the component output jack cluster is labeled "DVD out" while the S-video jack is still labeled "S-video out".
You will just have to check your A/V receiver (or HTiB main unit) instructions.
