The Saab 9-3 is labelled as such in their ads, but I am wondering what on earth is a linear sports sedan? Are there such things as an exponential sports sedan? Perhaps a 9-3 Turbo is an exponential sports sedan????????

    Confused!

A buddy of mine just got the 9-3 Vector. I guess there are 3 trim levels, linear, vector and one other.
When I ride shotgun, I feel compelled to tell him that 'you are clear to vector, victor'.
And to think they pay people to think up this crap !

So it has nothing to do with mathematics? (other than perhaps that's what you get when you get aeronautical people making cars)

I really like the new SAAB models. The only problem is that everytime I think SAAB, I think of a George Carlin bit where he's complaining about yuppies and their "SAAAAAAAAAABS".

Did you know that GM is using the Epsilon (SAAB 93) platform for the new Chevy Malibu?!

Saw another Saab commercial last night. They are perpetuating the confusion I think cause the ad ended in the following:

    Saab 9-3
    Linear Sports Sedan

just like that with a CR between the "9-3" and "linear" which to me, really makes it look like Linear is an adjective modifying the "Sports sedan" which was the basis of my original post. They really should put it as:

    Saab 9-3 Linear
    sports sedan

because as people mentioned here, Linear is a model trim and not a type of sports sedan. Those silly Swedes!

Why is Saab rebadging a shitty Subaru when they already had a nice station wagon?

    1. It isn't shitty. Motor Trend top 10 list for what 3 or 4 years now in a row?

    2. They need a smaller car to compete(so they say).

Personally I'm willing to pony up a few more grand to get leather seating and a nicer interior which are the 2 flaws I have with the WRX. I get the great engine and drivetrain w/o the "Fast and the Furious" look.

I haven't heard about this plan Philip, thought you were joking, actually...

I think alot of magazines who have anything bad to say about the WRX is the interior. I wonder if they'll move the ignition to the center console area?
